Purpose of the Foundation |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Natalies husband Chris, along with her family
and friends, established the Natalie Squassi Cancer Foundation in
April of 2002. In order to preserve the memory of Natalie and to celebrate
the courage and strength with which she faced every day of the disease,
without complaint. She lost her struggle on January 3, 2002 at the age
of 36, but her love and energy survive. Natalie was the (Little
Engine That Could or a do-er). We believe there is no
better way to honor her than continue her fight against breast cancer
and share her hopes for a cure for others. The Foundation will work tirelessly
until the day comes that we have a cure for breast cancer. The Foundation will be a fund raising conduit for the American Cancer Society breast cancer research. There will be a variety of fund raising events, for example: Fashion shows, sponsoring of a walk for the cure event, solicitation of corporate and individual sponsors, and annual picnic events. Most events are to be scheduled in the Monmouth County NJ area. Some events will be conducted in New York City. Excess funds may also be provided to support other charities including, but not limited to, those dedicated to environmental protection, cancer research and hospice care. |
